Artists Statement
I’m inspired by the wonderful subjects I have the privilege of portraying – the adorable kids, the loving families, the very lucky dogs and their even luckier humans, and the generations who realize how blessed they are to have parents, grand- and even great grandparents. I’m inspired by the act of creating a simply beautiful, authentic portrait of someone, of capturing the family and loving bond representing the essence of “unbreakable” – the “Portrait of Life”. I feel connected to people through my work, and I have the pleasure of fostering new friendships through our experience together. There could be no better vocation for me (to quote a favorite of mine) “in the whole wide Earth”, and I absolutely love sharing it with my clients.
People say to me that it must be tough being in my business, because people don’t “have to have photography”. They couldn’t be further from the truth. Once time passes, there’s no way to get it back – once a child has grown from a newborn to a three month old, she’s a completely different looking person. One year birthdays come once in a lifetime, and for that matter so do 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6! Every person has unique beauty. Every age has a unique beauty, and sometimes some awkwardness; that is Life, and the beauty of a “Portrait of Life”.
Giving Back
We donate to charitable organizations including Saddle Up Riding Club, Eckerd Youth Alternatives, the Heart Gallery of Pinellas, Animal Based Charities (ABC), Girls Inc, the Loving Care Pet Fair, and Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce. We give the gift of our services and products to non-profits in Silent Auctions as well. Please contact Tammy at the studio if you have a request or for further details.
